Rewriting the Definition of Corporate

When you first hear the word corporate, it’s no surprise it may leave a bitter taste in your mouth. The truth is that corporations have been given a “money hungry” stigma. Riverside decided when it opened its doors, that we would never let that stigma fall onto our shoulders. Community is at the heart of who we are and why we drive ourselves and our community. Without community we would not have the friends, family, memories, and love that enrich our lives each and every day.

We are HONORED to have made the 16th in ranking for Oregon and SW Washington for Corporate Philanthropy this year. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” Confucius once said. The 2,000 hours of community service put in by our amazing staff and team were never considered work; it was a small token of our appreciation for the foundations we came to support and their incredible feats of hope, contributions, and healing. A few of the marvelous foundations we could help out with are the Healing Hunter Foundation, Susan G Komen, Dollar 4 Portland and Movember.

The Healing Hunter Foundation is a non profit that uplifts children who are battling cancer, through random acts of kindness and love. Dollar 4 Portland is another non profit that aids in assistance to families with overwhelming medical issues. Movember is a leading charity supporting men and their health; from cancer to suicide. The Susan G Komen is an organization leading the way in Breast Cancer research funding and reducing the number of women we love and lose to cancer.

Riverside has donated $35,000 this past year. It is just a sliver in the monumental force and light that these foundations provide on a daily basis. We hope you can join us this year and find a foundation that speaks to you. Get out into your community and lift others up. There is no greater gift than enhancing the lives of those you love. When you give to others, you are creating a far more beautiful world than there was previously.  We challenge our fellow corporations to CHANGE the stigma of our industries. We are nothing without our communities, and we are grateful for the recognition. This recognition in turns allows us to shout out such foundations and rally more support for them. We will see you next year in the rankings!
